2. Which HSK Level Should I Take?

Under the new HSK framework, the approximate correspondence between CLP courses and HSK levels is:

Course

Approximate HSK Level

C1A

HSK 2

C1B

HSK 3–4

C10A

HSK 4–5

C10B & above

HSK 5 and above

These are approximate equivalencies. Your actual proficiency may vary depending on your listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities.

Not sure which HSK level you should register for?
Please talk with your Chinese instructor to determine which HSK level is most appropriate for your current Chinese proficiency before registering.

3. HSK vs. HSKK

  • HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test): A written test that assesses overall Chinese language proficiency.
  • HSKK (HSK Speaking Test): An oral test that assesses Chinese speaking ability.

You may register for HSK and HSKK together, or register for either test separately. If you only need to take the HSK, you do not need to register for HSKK.

4. Registration Steps

  1. Go to the HSK Registration Page.
  2. Select the appropriate HSK or HSKK level based on your Chinese proficiency.
  3. Enter your personal information and complete the registration.
  4. Follow the instructions to complete payment.
  5. Save your registration confirmation and any examination-related information for future reference.
