Kelvin received his B.A. in English from Lingnan University and his M.A. in Linguistics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His interest in teaching Cantonese derived from teaching Japanese speakers at J.F. Oberlin University during a study abroad program. Before teaching at UC Berkeley, he has taught Cantonese at the Yale-China Chinese Language Center at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Whether in or outside of class, he enjoys practicing Cantonese with his students and listening to their stories of navigating through the maze of university life.
